High praise in this house: ‘Husband, I love u more than I love dogs’, hand-lettered on lilac beside a black French bulldog in white heart-shaped shades. For the dog-mad wife who knows exactly how big that compliment is, and the husband who has heard her rank him before. Birthday, anniversary, or no reason at all.
